NEW STRATCOMMWING-1 Insignia
LCDR Jeff Labauve, Communications, SCW-1 & TF-124 shares insignia change which became active on 2 January, 2018.
The previous wing insignia did not meet current OPNAV standards because it depicted an E-6B midflight. The proposed insignia features the closed fist used in various Strategic Air Command and STRATCOM insignia. This raised horizontal fist was previously depicted in other “Take Charge and Move Out” (TACAMO) patches prior to the Wing establishment. The three lightning bolts represent the three arms of the nuclear triad portrayed in the current STRATCOM insignia as well as the three squadrons that constitute the Wing and their colors. The clutched chain represents the “link” that TACAMO provides as its central mission. The other elements are taken from the previous insignia: the earth for the Wing’s global mission and the blue and gold palette for its Naval Heritage.
