TACAMO Fallen Brother Fred Niklaus

December 12, 1952 - November 2, 2016

Frederick J. Niklaus, 63, formerly of Maryland and most recently of Muncy, died Wednesday, November 2, 2016, at his mother’s home in Muncy after an extended illness.

Born December 12, 1952, in Williamsport, he was a son of the late Frederick Sterling Niklaus, Jr. and Doris Irene (Karschner) Niklaus, who survives.

Frederick was a 1970 graduate of Kaiserslautern High School, Germany.

He spent 20 years in the United States Navy where he served as a Senior Chief Aviation Electronic Technician. After his time in the military he worked for BAE Systems in Maryland.

Frederick was a longtime member of the NRA and American Legion in Maryland. He loved tinkering with his old cars and watching NASCAR. Frederick also enjoyed camping and target shooting. Most importantly, he cherished time spent with his family.

Surviving in addition to his mother are one brother, Ronald Eugene Niklaus, of Muncy; three sisters, Cheryl Ault and her husband, Tom, of Montoursville, Sandra Niklaus Eck and her husband, Ronald, of Montoursville, and Nancy Michael and her husband, Ronnie, of Muncy Valley; and six nieces and nephews, Michelle, Billie Jo, Valerie, R.J., Brandon and Justin.

Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.

The family is being assisted by Grenoble’s, 121 S. Main St., Muncy.
