Chadwick “Chad” Jackson Truax, age 48, passed away on October 13, 2025. He was born on December 4, 1976, in Florence, South Carolina, to Leon Douglas Truax, Jr. and Sandra Jackson Truax.
Chad loved everyone and had a great sense of humor. He was always joking around and could light up any room. His family and his girls were his everything, and nothing made him prouder than being their dad. Chad was an avid golfer and enjoyed sports. He had a generous heart, loved spending time at the grill, and felt deeply honored to have served in the Navy. He maintained lasting friendships with those he served beside. Chad was a Data Center Manager with Blue Cross and Blue Shield.
Chad is survived by his loving wife, Bobby Jo; daughters: Abby and Sophie; son, Joey; father: Doug Truax (Judy); mother, Sandy Truax; brother, Spencer Truax (Nikki); and numerous other family members.
Chad was preceded in death by his brother, Kevin Truax.
Funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm, Saturday, October 18, 2025, at L. Harold Poole Funeral Service Chapel, 944 Old Knight Road, Knightdale. For those unable to attend in person, the service will be live-streamed. The link to join is listed below.
The family will receive friends and relatives from 6:00 to 8:00 pm, Friday, October 17, 2025, at the funeral home.

This is very sad news, Chad was a good friend and an absolute joy to deploy with, he always had a smile on his face and could make you smile when you needed it.
Chad was very professional on deployments and a great hand when the aircraft was broke.
