TACAMO Fallen Veteran - David Durkee, VQ-4

November 26, 1967 - August 25, 2021

David F. Durkee, 53, of North Tonawanda, Wednesday (August 25, 2021). David was born in North Tonawanda, New York on November 26, 1967 to Frederick and Sandra (Shaw) Durkee. Lt. Col. David Durkee served in the Gulf War in the United States Navy from 1989-1998, then in the United States Airforce from 2001 - 2013 upon his retirement. David is survived by his children Karli (Jake) Weber, Justin and Madison Durkee, brother of Christopher (Cheryl) Durkee, and Timothy (Terry) Durkee, grandfather of Riley Weber, former husband of Dana Mohring, also surviving are many aunts uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Friends may call Monday from 4-8 P.M. at the Wattengel Funeral, 533 Meadow Drive, North Tonawanda. Full Military Honors will be held Tuesday at WESTERN NEW YORK NATIONAL CEMETERY, 1254 Indian Falls Rd, Corfu, NY 14036 at 10:00 A.M. Memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.

"This was reported to me from Sean McHugh aka Sean"E"Mac. Dave Durkee, although retired from the air force was a tacamoite. I don't have the exact dates and all squadrons he may have been in but Sean and I flew with him in VQ4 in the 94 to 96 timeframe. He was only 53. May God rest his soul"
