John Henry Fletcher, 84, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, October 6, 2023, in Fairfield, Texas. John was born on February 8, 1939, to John William and Mamie Viona (Harrison) Fletcher in Lancaster, South Carolina. John completed the 10th grade and enlisted in the United States Navy in 1967 where he would become a flight engineer and would eventually retire from the United States Navy. John was a great family man and a loving father. He married Petra in 1969. They were married for 49 years before her passing in 2018. John was a very active man who enjoyed his military life as well as ranching. He loved to fish, hunt and stay active. His family and friends will always remember him as a strong, loving and caring man. John was preceded in death by his wife, Petra Fletcher of Richland, Texas, and daughter, Sylvia Najera of Dallas, Texas. He is survived by his daughter, Stephanie Fletcher and grandson, Hunter Turner, both of Richland, Texas. John's visitation was on Friday, October 13, 2023 in The Magnolia Chapel at Corley Funeral Home. Funeral Service: Saturday, October 14, 2023, 3:00 pm in The Magnolia Chapel at Corley Funeral Home. Interment in Richland Cemetery, Richland, Texas.
