Stephen Scott Pope, age 55, passed away on Friday, February 1, 2019. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy. Scott was preceded in death by his father, Johnny Talmedge Pope and his brother, Mike Pope. He is survived by his mother, Sarah Ruth Stagg Pope; son, Todd Pope; daughter, Jennifer Pope; granddaughter, Lila Rankin; sister, Christi Bryan; and girlfriend, Gail Allen. Services will be scheduled at a later date.

"Scott was a caring person who would do anything for you. Him being from Alabama and me from Pennsylvania, we each thought the other talked “funny”. Scott was a dedicated aircraft mechanic who truly believed in the mission and always took pride in his work. Scott was more than a friend to me, he was a brother. Someone whom I could count on no matter what. He helped me welcome my daughter into the world and embraced my wife like a sister. Scott was well liked by everyone who came in contact with him and was respected by his fellow sailors. He is sorely missed by this old sailor." said by Sam Beeghley
