TACAMO Fallen Veteran - Weldon Yannayon, VQ-4


May 8, 1932 - April 24, 2021


Weldon A. Yannayon, 88 passed away on April 24, 2021 at the Charlotte Hall Veterans Home in Charlotte Hall, Maryland.

Weldon was born in Medina, Ohio on May 8, 1932. His parents were the late Glen and Verda Yannayon.

Weldon proudly served the United States Navy, joining in 1950 and served over 26 years including his dedicated service to Patrol Squadron VP-46, NAF Cam Ranh Bay, Vietnam. He retired in 1977 as the Command Master Chief of Fleet Air Reconnaissance Squadron 4 (VQ-4).

Weldon was predeceased by his parents, his sister Gloria Price and his daughter Julia C. Yannayon. He is survived by his children Timothy F. Yannayon (Leslie Taylor) of Leonardtown, MD, C John Yannayon (Rosedale) of Hollywood, MD; Glen W. Yannayon (Jackie) of Mechanicsville, MD; his grandchildren John Yannayon (Sara) of Conway, SC; Bryan Yannayon of Abell, MD; Jason Yannayon (Nina) of San Antonio, TX: Lee Guy (Laura) of Leonardtown, MD, Becky Daniels (Joe) of Great Mills, MD, as well as great grandchildren Lana & Leo Guy and Caden & Colsen Daniels.


Interment will be at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Disabled Veterans of America or the Wounded Warrior Project.
