Roger was a friend & 'shipmate'
I was happy to see another TACAMO F.E. check in before I PCS'd. We shared few meals at the 'Chicken in-the-dirt'. It was a privelege to serve with T-Bone.

Roger was a very close from of mine, we flew together in both VQ4 and VR22. Spent many occasions with him and his family at his house in Rota, Spain. What a great guy he was, a mentor to many young sailors. I still recount the time he was on a deployment to Sierra Leon and he was on a ferry that capsized, he along with some other squadron personnel that where on that ferry rescued several locals that couldn't swim, putting their own lives at risk. Roger was one of the best Chiefs I ever worked with in my Navy Career, and a friend you could always count on when you needed advise or help. A final salute to…

I grew up in Hercs. VR-24 (Det) Rota, VQ-4. & VR-22 (MO). AMSC Roger “T-Bone” Taylor was a big part of my experience in all three squadrons, first as a Loadmaster, later as FE.
Roger was an “F-Model” wizard, whose expertise I always appreciated, especially while I served as Maintenance Officer in VR-22 during Desert Storm.
When you flew with Chief Taylor, you knew his aircraft was always ready to fly-anywhere-anytime. He is missed by a lot of us old Herc pilots. Hand Salute, Chief Taylor!
