What a fun filled year celebrating the stand-up of VQ-3 & VQ-4!

Two Celebrations Complete in Maryland & NAS Oklahoma &

One to GO in Charleston, SC November 8 to 12

First

In May, Bill “Buff” & Katy Crowell held a picnic at Solomon Island Recreation Center, Maryland. Buff noted in attendance was the first three Commodores Riddile, Ayers & Lochausen. Also, Chris “Scooby” Sachs, Joel Lavery, Joe Walko and Mike & Cheryl Vos ventured in from out-of-state. Photos Below

On Friday, June 29th, VQ-3 held a celebration gathering at NAS Oklahoma/Tinker AFB in VQ-4’s hangar. TACAMO Veterans enjoyed the afternoon with the active duty members at lunch, viewing the history displays and Guest speaker, "Chocko" Baker, CAPT RET(USN) who gave a brief history and inspiring view of the future of TACAMO. Many thanks to VQ-3 LT Althaus, LT McCarthy, LTJG Walton & LTJG Hefner for organizing the event and history displays. They dug through boxes of TACAMO history in the VQ-3 Skipper’s office and gathered history from Vern Lochausen, TCVA president & historian. LT Althaus took time to model the 50th Anniversary program after the 25 Anniversary program.

Among the active duty attendees were 40+ TACAMO Veterans. Also VQ-3 & VQ-4 Plankowners: Ron Coppock, Donnie Woods, Dan Shore, Gary Foster & Bill Porter. Attendees enjoyed time together at Old Germany and in the Aria Lounge & Block 21 of Sheraton OKC for breakfast, dinner and drinks. Photos Below
